South Devon College is a large further education college providing a range of learning opportunities within Torbay and the surrounding area. The college is part of The University of Plymouth Colleges network. South Devon College is primarily based at Long Road in Paignton. The College also has the University Centre for degree students, as well as facilities for Music in Newton Abbot, and Business courses at Heathfield on the A38.

Courses and Fees

South Devon College offers a range of courses and qualifications for 14-16 year olds (GCSEs, diplomas, foundation courses) through to undergraduate students.


South Devon College's £36m campus provides the local area with access to world-class facilities. These include the silver service restaurant Horizons, Inspirations, a fully functional and professional Hair and Beauty Salon and the Tom Thumb Day Nursery, a purpose built, Ofsted-approved childcare facility.

The theatre at South Devon College is newly built to a contemporary small scale design. It is flexible in its layout with pull-out seating for 160 people, or it can accommodate loose seating for theatre-in-the-round or any other style.

Learning Resource Centre (LRC) The modern LRC has two floors of resources specific to different curriculum areas and an electronic catalogue to help you find the resources or journals you want. There is also a comprehensive and wide range of books (including e-books), journals and electronic resources.
